Lake County Historical Society hosts Folk Fridays

LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Historical Society will be hosting a Folk Fridays concert series featuring musicians dedicated to traditional folk music.
The free outdoor concerts will take place at 7 p.m. Fridays, July 28, through Aug. 18 at the museum at 915. N. Michigan Ave. in Baldwin.
Featured artists include Chris Vallillo, Lee Murdock, electric folk duo Small Potatoes, and folk duo Mustard’s Retreat.
Chris Vallillo will be playing July 28. Vallillo is dedicated to preserving rural contemporary and traditional folk music of Midwest America.
Lee Murdock will play Aug. 4, Small Potatoes will play Aug. 11, and Mustard’s Retreat is scheduled for Aug. 18.
The concerts will go on rain or shine, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or remain in their cars during the show.
Vallillo will also be playing a free concert from noon to 1 p.m. July 29 at the Martin Johnson Heritage Museum at 10 1/2 Mile Road, east of Irons.
Attendees for this concert are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the one-hour show.
Following the concert attendees can also tour the Johnson home and the one room school.
