“Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed” exhibit will run Oct. 7-Jan. 15, 2024, at the Bess Bower Dunn Museum in Libertyville. Tickets are $3-$10. At 1899 W. Winchester Road. 847-968-3400; lcfpd.org.
The new exhibition explores the bones and fossils of giant creatures that once roamed the earth. Visitors can view and even touch six full dinosaur skeletal molds; including a triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex and velociraptor.

Scaring up fun
DIY Scarecrow Day is from 12 to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at Brothers Field in Long Grove. Tickets are free. At 340 Old McHenry Road. 847-634-0888; longgrove.org.
Do It Yourself Scarecrow Day is an afternoon dedicated to family fun. Build a custom scarecrow modeled after any character or idea you can create.
Pumpkin fun
Fox Lake Pumpkin Jubilee is from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Community Garden Green in Fox Lake. Tickets are free. At 17 E. School Court. 224-225-1404; foxlake.org/392/Pumpkin-Jubilee.
There will be craft vendors, food vendors and pumpkin carving. Carved pumpkins will be added to a wall display.
Stray cat strut
Brian Setzer Rockabilly Riot is at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. Tickets are $39-$99. At 203 N. Genesee St. 847-263-6300; geneseetheatre.com.

The Grammy award-winning singer and guitarist performs a night of rockabilly and swing and everything in between. He will be joined by an international rockabilly band, playing his songs from the last 40 years.
Hypno-improv

Starring Colin Mochrie of “Whose Line Is It, Anyway” fame and comedy-hypnotist Boris Cherniak, this live show combines hypnosis and improv comedy.
