Taron Egerton offers a new update on the future of the Kingsman franchise that contradicts what a 20th Century exec recently said. Though a third movie in the main Kingsman series has been in development, 20th Century’s president Steve Asbell said in October that there are “no plans on doing them anytime soon.”
However, Egerton has now provided some hope. In an interview with Screen Rant’s Liam Crowley for his new Netflix movie Carry-On (out on December 13), Egerton was asked about the claim that there are no further plans for the Kingsman franchise. He carefully responded by indicating there’s still a potential for more, saying:
I believe that was said by somebody from Fox, I think. I think… I don’t know, and I don’t want to speak out of school, but I don’t think that necessarily means that we won’t do it. I think Matthew and I very much want to do one more. I want to do one more. And so while, you know, we don’t have a shoot date yet, I think it could still happen.
More to come…
