YOU’VE GOT THE VOICE TO SING The New England Conservatory is ringing in the season with their annual family-friendly holiday concert. Head out to hear holiday classics from musicians clad in festive sweaters and hats in an auditorium decorated for the season. The repertoire will include favorites like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and singalongs of “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” and more. LOVED ONES ARE NEAR Out in South Boston, Boston Harbor Now will host a holiday celebration for the whole family. The annual tradition, Merry Moakley, will feature a photo booth, games, and live music by DJ WhySham. Plus, complimentary dinner will be provided from the food truck, Butter Ur Biscuit. COMMUNITY Artist Maria Finkelmeier’s MF Dynamics will present its newest installation titled “FREQUENCIES: Hyde Park” outside Roundhead Brewing. The multimedia art presentation — which was created in part with the Mayor’s Office for Arts and Culture Neighborhood Arts Activation Grant — features video, photos, and audio submissions from 70 Boston residents to showcase daily life in Hyde Park. It will be played on loop throughout the night, and attendees can listen through headphones silent disco-style. A WORLDWIDE HOLIDAY For its third year, activist opera company White Snake Projects will present their Let’s Celebrate! opera series. Three 20-minute operas will be performed, including “Thirty Angels,” about Navruz, the Uzbek and Persian New Year, “Dancing in Chalma,” which celebrates the Mexican festival, The Black Christ at Chalma, and “Requiem Tomatina,” about the La Tomatina Festival held annually near Valencia, Spain. MERRY AND BRIGHT If classics from the couch appeals to you this year, the annual GBH Music Holiday Spectacular concert will stream live from their Brighton studios this year. Hear festive tunes from a harp player and violin duo from the Boston Pops, soprano Amanda Forsythe and members of the Boston Early Music Festival Vocal and Chamber Ensembles, vocalist and Puerto Rican cuatro player Fabiola Méndez, a children’s choir led by Dan Ryan, and more. ILLUMINATE The Jewish Arts Collaborative and Museum of Fine Arts will celebrate Hanukkah with their 11th annual spcial event.
