Jujutsu Kaisen was one of the most beloved anime and manga franchises of 2024, and its popularity has led to many merchandise tie-ins and experiences where fans can interact with the series in the real world. From new clothing line collaborations to fast food promotions, Jujutsu Kaisen-themed items and events are all the rage, and now, Universal Studios theme park is joining in on the fun.
Universal Studios Japan has already welcomed Jujutsu Kaisen-themed attractions and events, but for the first time, these experiences are making their way to the United States at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. This spring 2025, the acclaimed shonen will take its place among other iconic pieces of pop culture during the all-new Universal Fan Fest Nights.

The special experience will only be available at the Los Angeles location, Universal Studios Hollywood, and was first announced recently at L.A. Comic Con. The immersive event will be similar to Halloween Horror Nights, an annual tradition at the theme parks that boasts terrifying haunted houses, costumed actors, and other chilling Halloween frights for visitors to enjoy and be terrified by.

Rather than focusing on a specific holiday like Halloween Horror Nights, the new Universal Fan Fest Nights experience, which is set to run from Friday, April 25, 2025, to Sunday, May 18, 2025, will focus on a handful of popular fandoms, including Harry Potter, One Piece, Star Trek, Back to the Future, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and, of course, Jujutsu Kaisen. In the press release, Universal Studios explains that the ticketed event will include “the compelling worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, anime and cosplay, and invite theme park guests and fans to partake in all-original and immersive, in-world experiences.”
Universal Studios Japan Has Already Unveiled a Jujutsu Kaisen Event in the Past
The Engaging Experience Included a 4D Ride, Themed Food, Merchandise, and More
The Jujutsu Kaisen component of the event will include everything from cosplay opportunities to unique snacks, food, and merchandise based around the series, offering fans the opportunity to delve completely into the familiar world of Jujutsu Kaisen for an evening. The recent Universal Studios press release elaborates on the Jujutsu Kaisen area of the experience, explaining that “this experience is also inspired by the widely popular Japanese manga and its anime adaptation follows high school student Yuji Itadori after he accidentally becomes the host of a powerful curse and joins Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses.”
Although this may be a first for Universal Studios’ United States theme parks, Jujutsu Kaisen and other animes have already made their mark on overseas locations of Universal Studios, particularly Universal Studios Japan. An entire section of the famous theme park was themed around Jujutsu Kaisen for an event in 2022, with all the rides, merchandise, food, decor, and other elements to match. One of the standouts of this area was a gift shop filled with merchandise like plush toys of characters like Megumi and Nobara, replicas of Yuji’s school uniform and Gojo’s outfit, a Gojo popcorn bucket, and other trinkets fans could purchase.
From a Themed Restaurant to a 4D Ride, There Was Plenty To Enjoy at USJ’s Event
The Jujutsu Kaisen Experience Was Specifically Created To Immerse Fans in the Fictional World
The event also featured a 4D experience designed to fully immerse fans in the hit anime. It included elements like water, surround sound, and high-quality 3D graphics to create the illusion that viewers were interacting with favorite characters like Gojo Satoru and Yuji Itadori. The theme park also transformed one of their restaurants into a Jujutsu Kaisen-themed dining hall temporarily, aptly titled Tokyo Metropolitan Magic College Cafeteria, which served up dishes that offered subtle nods to characters and plot points that viewers of the show or readers of the manga are sure to love and be familiar with.
In the restaurant, fans could choose from Yuji Itadori’s favorite, tempura and rice, a Nobara-themed meal of sushi, a Toge Inumaki matcha dessert, a Gojo Satoru chef’s special meal, and a variety of brand-new drinks, including one featuring an adorable nod to Jujutsu Kaisen character, Panda. Also at the restaurant, fans were able to have a photo op with a figure of Gojo Satoru meant to represent what the strongest sorcerer might look like in real life. These foods were not the only treats available for purchase however, snack carts around the parks also featured Jujutsu Kaisen-themed snacks.

From a Nobara Kugisaki rose lemon tea to meat buns designed to look like Megumi’s Divine Dogs, there was no shortage of Jujutsu Kaisen food and drinks to order during the special event. Every aspect of Universal Studios Japan’s Jujutsu Kaisen event was meticulously designed to include well-loved characters and important moments from the series, making it a true delight for anyone who calls themselves a fan of the series. Universal Studios Japan has also featured experiences and rides based on other animes, like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan, to name a few of the most prominent franchises they have featured.

Although not much information has been released regarding the specifics of the Universal Fan Fest Nights experience at this time, it seems most likely that it will follow a similar format as the Japan event, with merchandise, food and drinks, cosplay, and perhaps a themed ride or show. Since One Piece will also appear during the experience, it seems Universal Studios is increasing the prevalence of anime in their United States theme parks, which is fantastic news for fans. The Jujutsu Kaisen event, coming this spring 2025, is sure to be a massive success, and will hopefully mark the first of many anime events at Universal Studios Hollywood.
