This note quickly became an inside joke within the TikTok’s comment section. “If that isn’t fixed by Logan’s Christmas Party we’re getting a lawyer,” one user joked. “Are y’all even aware that Logan’s Christmas party is here on the 9th?” another wrote. “Somebody needs to get corporate on the phone and get this fixed ASAP. Logan is the one person you don’t cancel on.”
Thanks to this, the video went viral, amassing more than 9 million views, 575,000 likes, and 5,900 comments. Phillips’ comment currently has about 310,000 likes. Topgolf responded accordingly.
“[S]o now all of a sudden everyone knows [L]ogan huh?” the company wrote in the comment section of the video, along with a picture of rapper Snoop Dogg making an exasperated expression.
On December 30th, Topgolf took the joke one step further. The company posted a TikTok of construction workers operating cranes in order to repair the nets along with text that read, “working overtime to make sure we’re open for [L]ogan’s work [C]hristmas party.”
One day later, Topgolf posted another update video that shows the workers securing the net into place.
On January 3rd, a full six days before Phillips’ party, the company announced that construction was complete. The final TikTok features the construction workers holding a sign that says “4 LOGAN”—a wholesome touch, which, according to Topgolf’s caption, was all their idea.
The campaign as a whole netted Topgolf more than 16 million views and lots of goodwill amongst TikTok users. “It’s been incredible watching this saga develop from first seeing Logan’s comment days ago to now the nets being back up,” one user wrote. “Netflix should turn it into a movie.”
