One of Nicole Kidman’s most exciting upcoming projects will continue an unexpected but exciting acting trend. The Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Oscar-winning actress has appeared in some phenomenal TV shows and movies over her 43-year career, and she remains one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. In 2026 alone, she has four, possibly five, projects coming out.
Kidman will play the title role in Netflix’s Scarpetta, which comes out March 11. Practical Magic 2 will come to theaters on September 18. Her horror movie The Young People doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s slated for 2026. Big Little Lies season 3 has been confirmed, but it may not come out this year.
However, her project that I’m most excited about is Margo’s Got Money Troubles. The TV show will continue a trend that I never saw coming, but I’m highly enthusiastic about.
Elle Fanning & Nicole Kidman Will Star Together In Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman will collaborate on Apple TV’s show Margo’s Got Money Troubles, adapting the titular book by Rufi Thorpe, which premieres on April 15, 2026, with the first three episodes. The show has a long list of executive producers, and Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman are among them.
Elle Fanning will play Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooter’s waitress and an ex-professional wrestler. She drops out of college with dreams of being a writer. However, she’s got bills to pay and a new baby, so she turns to OnlyFans for money. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman will play Lace, the mediator between Margo and her ex-boyfriend Mark, who was formerly her English Teacher.
They will appear alongside other stars like Nick Offerman, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Angarano, who will play Margo’s father, mother, and ex-boyfriend, respectively.
Elle Fanning & Nicole Kidman Have Become The Most Unexpected Acting Pair
Elle Fanning has been typecast as the sweet, innocent, introspective young woman, often in genre shows and movies. Nicole Kidman has played many different kinds of roles over her career, but her most recent typecast is the wealthy but troubled older woman, often in prestige TV and movies. It seems like their careers would take them in opposite directions, but they have become quite the acting pair.
Previously, they appeared together in the underrated 2017 war thriller The Beguiled. The same year, they appeared in the sci-fi musical rom-com How To Talk To Girls at Parties. Fanning has spoken highly of Kidman in the time since, sharing the advice and lessons she’s learned from her in interviews. They also shared a sweet moment together at the 2025 Golden Globes.
What’s Next For The Acting Duo?
After Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman already have another project lined up together. After a massive seven-way bidding war, Paramount+ acquired the legal thriller Discretion from A24 with a straight-to-series order for eight episodes (via Variety). The executive producers include Chandler Baker, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, and Susannah Grant, among others. Baker will write the scripts, and Kidman and Fanning will star.
