Society of Camera Operators has focused in on the nominees for its 2026 SOC Awards, which honor the craft of camera operation and celebrate the role camera operators and crews play in storytelling. See the full list below.
Vying for the movie prize are the camera pros behind Apple Original Films’ F1, Netflix’s Frankenstein, A24’s Marty Supreme and Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another and Weapons. Colin Anderson is this year’s lone double nominee in either medium, for Marty Supreme and One Battle After Another.
Nominees on the TV side are the operators for episodes of Prime Video’s now-wrapped Étoile, HBO Max’s The Pitt, Netflix’s Stranger Things and Apple TV’s Severance and The Studio.
“This year’s honorees represent the very best of our craft, and we are proud to recognize their exceptional contributions to film and television during a time when their work, and their perseverance, matters more than ever,” said Matthew Moriarty, President of the Society of Camera Operators.
The SOC also will announce its inaugural Technical Achievement Award during the awards ceremony, which is set for Saturday, March 7. The group said Tuesday that, in recognition of the prolonged and devastating slowdown in U.S. production and the challenges faced by SOC members and industry partners, the 2026 SOC Awards will be presented as a virtual livestream (you can register for it here). Watch parties held in Los Angeles, New York City and Atlanta.
