Fans of All My Children may soon return to Pine Valley, as Kelly Ripa revealed that she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, are developing two All My Children movies for Lifetime through their production company, Milojo.
Ripa shared the news during a recent episode of her Sirius XM podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, while speaking with former All My Children star Susan Lucci.
During the conversation, Ripa asked Lucci if she would consider reprising her iconic, Daytime Emmy Award-winning role as Erica Kane for the Lifetime films. “I would love to play Erica Kane again,” Lucci said.
Lucci went on to reflect fondly on her time portraying the legendary soap character. “She was so much fun to play,” Lucci explained. “My goodness, it was so much fun. I was serious when I said I would look at the scripts and go, ‘Really, I get to do this?’ This was a wonderful part, and I’ve been hearing good things about the writer, too, and that, of course, is so important, whose hands are you in.”
This isn’t the first time Ripa has attempted to revive the All My Children universe. She previously worked on a primetime reboot titled Pine Valley alongside showrunner Leo Richardson. The project was centered on a young journalist who arrives in Pine Valley with a secret agenda and becomes entangled in a long-standing feud between the Kane and Santos families.
On September 11, 2024, TV Line reported that Lifetime was developing two All My Children television films, including one with a holiday theme. Until Ripa’s comments on her podcast, little additional information had been shared publicly about the projects.
