Showrunner Andrew Guest just opened up about Wonder Man, revealing that viewers don’t need to see all the other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows to understand what’s going on in the newest Marvel series. After 37 films and over a dozen Disney+ series, the MCU storylines have become so interconnected, with an increase in “required viewing” content, that fatigue has set in among some fans.
However, Wonder Man will attempt to break that trend. During an interview with NYT, Guest announced that Wonder Man “shouldn’t require any homework.” Viewers can tune in to the series without having much knowledge of the movies and shows that came before it.
Co-creator Destin Daniel Cretton agreed, adding that Wonder Man is not a “typical superhero show.” The series is “a bit different, a bit weirder, maybe a little deeper, hopefully funny.”
More to come…
