Tributes to Catherine O’Hara are pouring in from Hollywood stars — who remember the actress and comedian for her kindness, brilliant performances and enduring impact on comedy.
O’Hara, who was known for her performances in “Home Alone,” “Schitt’s Creek” and “Beetlejuice,” died in her Los Angeles home on Friday morning following a brief illness.
“Mama. I thought we had time,” wrote Macaulay Culkin, who played O’Hara’s on-screen son in “Home Alone.”
His tribute continued, “I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you.But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later.”

Chris Columbus, who directed O’Hara in “Home Alone,” said he felt “stunned and heartbroken” over the news of O’Hara’s death, per a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I was an obsessive fan of Catherine’s brilliant comedic work on SCTV and was thrilled when she agreed to play Kevin’s mom in ‘Home Alone’” he wrote. “What most people don’t realize is that Catherine carries the weight of 50 percent of that film. The movie simply would not work without her extraordinary performance.”
“Catherine grounds the picture with a profound emotional depth. I will miss her greatly. Yet there is a small sense of comfort, realizing that two of the finest human beings I’ve ever known, Catherine and John Candy, are together again, brilliantly improvising, making each other laugh.”

“I am devastated. We have lost one of the comic giants of our age,” said Christopher Guest, who frequently collaborated with O’Hara, per Variety.
The pair worked together on “Schitt’s Creek,” “Waiting for Guffman,” “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind” and “For Your Consideration.”

“Only one Catherine O’Hara, and now none. Heartbreaking‚” Michael Keaton, who co-starred with O’Hara in “Beetlejuice,” wrote in a brief tribute.
In a second post, Keaton continued, “We go back before the first Beetlejuice.She’s been my pretend wife, my pretend nemesis and my real life, true friend.”

“Catherine O’Hara brought love and light to our world, through whipsmart compassion for the collection of eccentrics she portrayed,” Meryl Streep, who starred alongside O’Hara in “Heatburn,” shared in a statement.
