Girls’ indoor track
CMAC Large School Championship: Depth and domination were the keywords for the day as the Advanced Math and Science Academy athletes took home five championships to cruise to the league title with 101 points at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
Eighth grader Jalila Menkari won the 600 (1:44.63) and was second in the 2 mile (13:29.30) and classmate Miliana Militovic was tops in the 1,000 (3:12.09).
Tess Wheeler won the 2 mile (13:09.3) and was fourth in the mile (6:01.14), just behind teammate Marianna Tsianatelis (6:00.50). The Eagles took the top three spots in the 2 mile, as Wheeler and Menkari were followed by sophomore Maya Prabakaren (13:36.33).
Elizabeth Zickus won the long jump (16-0) and was third in the 300 (44.73) and fourth in the high jump (4-6) and also ran the anchor along with Milatovic, Madelyn Goulding and Caroline Haher to win the 1,600 relay (4:32.11). Aysha Silva was second in the shot put (34-8) for the Eagles.
Worcester Tech’s 800 relay team of Kewlew Foreman, Azariah Fullerton, Joanita Boakye and Anahi Ayala won in 1:52.16, while sophomore Motunrayo Salau was second in the 300 (44.44) and Salau and classmate Fullerton finished second and third in the 55 to help the Eagles place second with 48 points.
Worcester Tech also took three of the top four spots in the long jump, as Ayala was second (14-9), Foreman was third (13-10) and Drea Earley (13-7) was fourth.
Auburn’s Hailey Huchowski won the 55 hurdles (9.52), Isabel Zukowski won the shot put (40-10.5) and Abigail Hunter won the high jump (5-0) to help the Rockets take third with 47 points.
Tantasqua’s Keoni Savoie won the 55 (7.14) and the 300 (40.85) as the Warriors finished fourth with 43.5 points.
St. Paul’s Liliana Longton won the mile (5:42.24).
CMAC Small School Championship: Twin sisters Emily Flagg and Abby Flagg continued their stellar careers in distance running, as Emily won the 2 mile (10:45.91) and Abby was tops in the mile (4:58.97) as Whitinsville Christian captured the team title with 89 points at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
Junior Josephine Dyke was second in the 600 (1:47.18), senior Lilly Wierenga was third in the 300 (45.33) to pick up points for the Crusaders. Whitinsville Christian had three of the top four spots in the mile, as Inez Smith was third and Gianna Dyke was fourth.
Uxbridge’s Kendall Gilmore won the 300 (43.88) and the high jump (4-10) as the Spartans took second with 61.50 points.
Parker’s Kinsley Kline won titles in the 55 hurdles (9.81) and the long jump (15-3.75) and Chrys Olsen won the shot put (30-11) as the Panthers finished third with 60 points. Hopedale’s Mabel Carreiro won the 600 (1:42.45)
David Prouty’s Zoe Barnett won the 55 (7.42) and teamed with Lauren Tutlis, Karissa Cormier and Ava Sandberg to win the 800 relay (1:57.56). Sutton’s Vivien Bregmen won the 1,000 (3:04.4) and ran the anchor on the 1,600 relay along with Annabella Lamoreaux, Niki Hong and Kayleen Borstyn to win the 1,600 relay (4:21.48).
Boys’ indoor track
CMAC Large School Championship: Gershom Opoku won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 6 inches, and Worcester Tech won the 800 relay and the 1,600 relay as the Eagles topped Tantasqua to take the team title with 74.5 points at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
Opoku, who also finished fourth in the 55 (6.78), ran the anchor along with Emmanuel Mireku, Noah Jones and Wellington Freeman to win the 800 relay (1:32.23), while teammates Nasredine Yussef, Leet Leet, Nana Brempong and Kayden Gray won the 1,600 relay (3:36.98).
Worcester Tech’s Joel Rodriguez was second in the 55 hurdles (8.26) and teammate Sonset Mas-Oud was second in the long jump (21-0.50), while Gray was third in the 300 and Yussef was fourth in the 600 to pick up points for the Eagles.
Tantasqua’s Jaylin Middlebrooks-Spencer was second in the 300 (38.19), Aidan Butler was second in the 2 mile (10:47.83) and Ben Bachand was third in the 1,000 (2:52.41) and fourth in the mile (4:52.60).
Leicester’s Jeremiah Kinsuma had a tremendous meet, winning the 55 (6.67), 300 (35.8) and the long jump (22-0.5) as the Wolverines finished fifth with 37 points. Teammate Benjamin Rivera also won the 55 hurdles (8.17).
Millbury’s Maximus Ferrari won the 1,000 (2:50.94) as the Woolies took third with 44 points.
Bay Path’s Wesley Lawless won the mile (4:45.68), South’s Isaiah Jacques won the 2 mile (10:43.64) and Nipmuc’s Dash Correia won the shot put (46-6).
CMAC Small School Championship: Ari Levine continued his strong performances in the shot put with a winning heave of 62-2.25, while Benjamin Stone won the mile (4:41.66) as Hopedale claimed the team title with 91.5 points at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
The Blue Raiders 1,600 relay team of Ben Stone, Connor Fitzgibbons, Sam Daipe and Matt Stone also earned a win in 3:43.6.
Whitinsville Christian took second with 63.5 points, as Pedro Carvalho won the 300 (37.01), Enson Enoch won the long jump (21-11.5) and the Crusaders took the 800 relay, as Enoch and Carvalho teamed with Ethan Hand and Jacob Beatty to win in 1:35.22.
Parker’s Danny Garrison won the 1,000 (2:44.96) and Nathaniel Henshaw took the top spot in the 2 mile (9:33.89) as the Panthers finished third with 50 points.
Sutton’s Cooper Lefort won the 55 hurdles (8.9) and the high jump (5-8) as the Sammies finished fourth with 45 points.
Quaboag’s Shyloh Peter won the 55 (6.68) and Camden Williams won the 600 (1:25.97).
