MCU Post-Credits: Hulk Rumors, Storm Rumors, And More
Mark Ruffalo and Tatiana Maslany Address Hulk and She-Hulk Rumors — Interestingly enough, this week saw both Mark Ruffalo and Tatiana Maslany give updates about their respective Hulk roles in the MCU. While he’s confirmed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Ruffalo implied he might not be in Doomsday. However, Ruffalo did tease that he’s still working with Marvel in some capacity, suggesting a future MCU appearance (most likely in Secret Wars).
Likewise, She-Hulk’s Tatiana Maslany responded this week to rumors she turned down returning as She-Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday, playing very coy about whether a return to the MCU is actually in the cards.
Halle Berry Addresses Storm’s Avengers: Doomsday Absence — Halle Berry was also in superhero news circles quite a bit this week while promoting her upcoming movie Crime 101, alongside co-stars Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth. While nothing was confirmed or denied per se, Halle Berry did suggest an MCU Storm appearance in Secret Wars might be more likely than in Doomsday. Likewise, Hemsworth made a joke that he’s going to fight to get her in Secret Wars.
Thor Seemingly Confirmed For Avengers: Secret Wars — At one point during the press tour for Crime 101 this week, Ruffalo seemed to indicate that Hemsworth would indeed be returning in Secret Wars as Thor after returning in Doomsday.
Ian McKellen Confirms New Jersey Doomsday Comments — After accidentally making comments about Magneto attacking New Jersey in Avengers: Doomsday, Ian McKellen doubled down this week (suggesting that he got the go-ahead from Marvel to keep sharing about it now that the cat’s out of the bag).
Vincent Donofrio’s New Comments About Wilson Fisk in Spider-Man Movies — As much as we’d all love for this not to be the case, Vincent D’onofrio confirmed that ongoing rights issues are still preventing him from appearing in a Spider-Man movie as The Kingpin (something Marvel Studios/Sony should really be working to remedy!).
Iman Vellani Gives 12 Reasons To Watch Wonder Man — Following the critically acclaimed release of Marvel’s Wonder Man last week, Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani revealed her list of 12 reasons for fans to watch the new MCU show. Given her proven fandom for the MCU long before she was cast as Kamala Khan, that’s some pretty high praise.
Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios Future Addressed Amid Other Big Disney Leadership Changes — With major leadership changes elsewhere at Disney (Josh D’Amaro taking over as Disney CEO/Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan taking over Lucasfilm), there were some questions about Kevin Feige’s future at Marvel Studios. However, it was confirmed this week in a report from Deadline that Feige isn’t expected to go anywhere anytime soon.
DCU Post-Credits: Krypto At The Puppy Bowl, Clayface Delayed, And More
New Krypto-Focused Supergirl Teaser (And Poster) At The Puppy Bowl — While there are no major superhero teasers expected during the Super Bowl for Spider-Man: Brand New Day or Avengers: Doomsday, DC’s Supergirl got a very cute new Krypto-focused teaser and poster during the Puppy Bowl.
Clayface Receives A Small Release Delay — It was confirmed this week that Clayface’s release date is changing from September 11 to October 23rd, arguably a much better date for the body-horror DC movie as it puts it squarely during “Spooky Season.”
Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl in Man of Tomorrow — A report from Deadline confirmed Isabela Merced’s return as Hawkgirl in 2027’s Superman sequel. Hopefully, this means other Justice Gang heroes will be returning as well.
Superman’s Released Script Explains Big Missing Villain Mystery — Having been featured as toys for 2025’s Superman, the movie’s recently released script confirms Yetis were meant to be featured outside the Fortress of Solitude, though they were ultimately cut.
Kaley Cuoco’s New Harley Quinn/DCU Comments — Actress Haley Cuoco spoke with Screen Rant this week, confirming that DC Studios loves the animated Harley Quinn series, while also revealing that she’d love to have a bigger role in the new DCU given the opportunity.
Spider-Man/Superman Crossover Comic Logo Revealed — While not movie/TV related, the upcoming Spider-Man/Superman crossover comic releasing its official logo feels worthy of inclusion this week. Not only did we get the official Superman and Spider-Man merged logo from Marvel and DC, but also a variant for their villains, Bizarro/Venom.
