2026 is a vital year for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and before its biggest releases arrive, fans can be treated to multiple Marvel movies and TV shows throughout the year, starting with a solid start of the year on Disney+. Two of what could be part of the MCU’s best movies are set to be released in 2026.
Those films would be Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, of course. Aside from those two crucial projects in the Multiverse Saga, Marvel Studios has several MCU TV shows and animated series to be released in 2026. Licensed content on streaming also helps keep fans entertained until the upcoming Marvel projects arrive. With that in mind, these are January 2026’s Marvel releases on Disney+:
3 Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends Season 4
Before Tom Holland’s next live-action adventure as Spider-Man, a version of Peter Parker comes to the small screen. Spidey and his Amazing Friends season 4 has returned to Disney+ with a new batch of episodes after the first part of the season was released in 2025. The Spider-Man TV show came back to the streamer on January 10.
As the only Marvel Disney+ release already available at the time of writing, fans can already tune in to Spider-Man’s new adventures. This season once again focuses on the lead trio of Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales, all of whom possess powers in the family-friendly animated series. The series continues its pirate-themed “Water-Webs” story arc.
2 Venom: Let There Be Carnage
The two remaining Marvel releases on Disney+ this month are live-action. Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the second of Tom Hardy’s Venom movies, will swing onto Disney+ on January 22. The film is one of the few successful entries in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The franchise has since ceased to exist after the failure of Madame Web, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage puts Hardy’s Venom up against Woody Harrelson’s manic Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage. While the film would have done better with an R rating that let the dark and murderous nature of its main villain shine, the SSU project is yet another fun addition to Hardy’s Spider-Man villain spinoff movies.
1 Wonder Man
Finally, the last Marvel movie or TV show to be released on Disney+ in January is a brand-new release from the MCU. Wonder Man was initially set to be the final MCU project of 2025. However, Marvel decided to push the show back to avoid it getting lost amid Christmas programming. All of Wonder Man’s 8 episodes will be released on Disney+ on January 27.
The MCU series provides a fresh look into the franchise, exploring the life of an actor within the MCU. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams, who has superpowers but has to keep them secret to get the role of Wonder Man in a Hollywood remake. Sir Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, teaming up with Simon. The series promises to start the MCU’s 2026 explosively.
