HOLLYWOOD, CA — A half-acre brush fire burning above the Sunset Strip Wednesday afternoon is threatening businesses in the busy commercial area and homes in Hollywood Hills West, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was first reported just before 1:30 p.m. on Metz Place, just north of Mels Drive-In in Sunset Plaza.
Firefighters from the LAFD and LA County Fire Department are working to stop forward progress of the blaze and protect structures from the fire, according to the LAFD.
