The holiday season is here, and silver bells are ringing, the cattle are lowing, and many venues are offering concerts to help brighten your holiday spirits.
Concerts for the week of Dec. 15 to 21, 2025:
A VERY MERRY VIOLIN CONCERT — The Michigan City Public Library will host A Very Merry Violin Concert at noon on Dec. 15 in the lobby. The Michigan City Music Chamber Festival’s holiday strings will have your spirits soaring. This event is for audiences of all ages. The library is at 100 E. Fourth St., Michigan City.
APOLLO’S FIRE: “PRAETORIUS CHRISTMAS VESPERS” — Apollo’s Fire presents “Praetorius Christmas Vespers,” a luminous recreation of a 17th century German holiday celebration. An orchestra will play period instruments, a chorus of singers, and festive pageantry will offer guests an enchanting adventure through baroque music in its spiritual and acoustic spectacle. STRAIGHT NO CHASER – HOLIDAY ROAD — Straight No Chaser, a male a cappella group, combines nine human voices that makes extraordinary music and showcases it with a sense of humor. This group with two RIAA Gold Certified albums will perform at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St., Sout Bend. HOLIDAY TWILIGHT CONCERT — Immerse yourself in an enchanting concert with the Kal-Haven Strings duet. Megan Healy and Lydia Raymond will fill the evening with a blend of holiday favorites the entire family will enjoy. The concert is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Michigan Maritime Museum, 260 Dyckman Ave., South Haven. The concert is free with a donation of $5 or a non-perishable food item.
CREST MANOR CHURCH CHRISTMAS CONCERT — This free concert will feature Michael Snyder at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19. Refreshments will follow the concert. Crest Manor Church, 1342 Berkshire Drive, South Bend.
CANDLELIGHT® — A series of concerts presented by Fever, will transform South Bend Scottish Rite with thousands of candles to host a performance by a local string quartet featuring classic Christmas carols and holiday melodies. The concert will be presented at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 19. Purchase tickets online at feverup.com/m/397285 for $59-$35.50. Guests must be 8 years or older. BLUES JAM WITH KEITH SCOTT — Keith Scott will be joined by some special guests in order to bring the audience a jamming blues concert at 10 a.m. CST Dec. 19 at Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. Fourth St., Michigan City.
CHRISTMAS WIZARDS — Christmas Wizards pays homage to the legendary Trans-Siberian Orchestra and more with a tribute show that will leave you in awe. This event is perfect for all ages. CHRISTMAS DINNER AND LIVE MUSIC — Chicory Café of Mishawaka will host Christmas dinner and music from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Dec. 20. Music will be performed by Marta Koonce, Jason Sapen, and Aaron Sapen. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Dinner buffet included, cash bar available. Tickets are $40-$20 and must be pre-purchased at chicorycafe.thundertix.com.
CHRISTMAS AT LORETTO CONCERT — The South Bend Chamber Singers will present this annual concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on the Saint Mary’s College Campus, 100 Rosary Hall, Notre Dame. This year’s concert features the world premiere of a new work by American composer Scott Perkins. The concert will offer a variety of other recent Christmas pieces by British and American composers. The concert ends with the choir surrounding the audience in candlelight, singing Sir Malcolm Sargent’s arrangement of “Silent Night.” Tickets $25-$15 are available by calling 574-284-4626, online at Saintmarys.edu/events, or at the door (credit card only).
A HOMETOWN HOLIDAY — The LaPorte City Band, under the direction of Charles Steck, and in conjunction with Arts in the Park, brings you a Hometown Holiday concert at 4 p.m. CST Dec. 21 at Kesling Middle School, 306 E. 18th St., LaPorte. The concert features Donna M. Mitchell, soprano and The LaPorte Little Theatre Chorus. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted for the Food Pantry.
