The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, led by music director Fabio Luisi, has booked a two-week, 10-city European tour for June 2024. Joining the orchestra as soloists will be violinists Anne-Sophie Mutter and James Ehnes and baritone Thomas Hampson.
With concerts in Spain, Germany, Austria and Belgium, this will be the orchestra’s first international tour since 2013, and its first under Luisi. It’s sponsored by the DSO’s Linda and Mitch Hart Touring Fund.

Programs will include Tchaikovsky’s Fifth and Sixth symphonies and Mahler’s Fifth. Representing recent works will be John Williams’ Violin Concerto No. 2, composed for and performed by Anne-Sophie Mutter, What Keeps Me Awake by former DSO composer-in-residence Angélica Negrón, and Flare by German composer Sophia Jani, the current composer-in-residence.

Previous DSO European tours have been led by former music directors Eduardo Mata, Andrew Litton and Jaap van Zweden.
