The performance is inspired by a group of writers working on a fictional television show set
Fort St. James Music Makers Hall presented “Music Makers Laughter on the 23rd Floor” on Friday, Feb. 21, and Saturday, Feb. 22.
This local performance, inspired by a group of writers working on a fictional television show set in the 1950s, showcased humorous scripts as the cast navigated their creative differences, studio politics and personal relationships.
The cast featured Jenny Vogelsang, Brynn Kitchen, Christopher Vogelsang, Corbett Boschman, Brian Radford, Jennifer Howell, Eileen Bennison, Andrew Vogelsang, Terri-Lee MacDougall and Kenny Gallop.
The two-night event was a resounding success, drawing a full house and encouraging plans for more community events like this.
Music Makers also revealed ambitious plans to launch a season of professional live theatre, scheduled for Fall 2025.
This season will include three different theatrical productions, featuring professional actors from across B.C., including the award-winning show, “Jake’s Gift”.
“After 50 years in operation, we want to broaden the variety of theatrical performances we provide to the community,” said Kenny Gallop, president of the society’s board.
“We’re not altering our production methods; we’re simply expanding the programming in our venue to offer our community more theatre options.”
Music Makers hinted at the possibility of hosting a live concert in Fort St. James, with an official announcement to follow once the artists are confirmed.
