9-1-1: Lone Star is sadly concluding after five seasons and over 70 episodes, and since the finale is just around the corner, fans have little time to prepare for the end. The Fox procedural drama TV show created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, is a spinoff of 9-1-1, which moved to ABC in 2024. 9-1-1: Lone Star premiered in 2020, beginning with Rob Lowe’s Owen Strand, a New York City firefighter captain, moving to Austin, Texas when a firehouse (Station 126) loses almost its entire crew, aside from Judd Ryder, during a disaster. It’s Owen’s duty to rebuild the station.
Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear are in the process of developing a second 9-1-1 spinoff in a new city. Although its location and cast are still unknown as of the writing of this article, the series is expected to premiere sometime during the 2025–2026 TV season.
Over the course of the Fox series’ five seasons, Station 126 has been through several highs and numerous lows. Cast members have come and gone (like Sierra McClain’s Grace in 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5), characters have gotten married, and terrible disasters have taken the lives of many. Through it all, Station 126 has remained a family. As 9-1-1: Lone Star heads into its final episodes, the show will undoubtedly continue to surprise viewers, throw curveballs at the characters, and it will (hopefully) give closure to many.

Following the shocking 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 fall finale in December 2024, the show returned on Monday, January 20, 2025, to kick off its final run of episodes. Unfortunately, after the premiere of episode 10, “All Who Wander,” only two remain before the Fox procedural drama ends. Season 5 only consists of 12 episodes, the second-lowest episode count for a 9-1-1: Lone Star season. However, there is some good news — the audience won’t have to wait long for the next (and last) two hours of 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5’s Remaining Episodes’ # Episode Title Release Date 11 “Impact” Monday, January 27, 2025 12 “Homecoming” Monday, February 3, 2025
After the airing of 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 10 on January 20, the Fox series won’t have any more breaks. Episode 11 will air one week after episode 10, and episode 12 (aka the finale) will drop one week following its predecessor’s premiere. So, fans won’t have to wait to learn what happens to every 9-1-1: Lone Star character and see how their stories conclude in the series finale.
9-1-1: Lone Star’s Finale Is Scheduled On February 3, 2025
Monday At 8 pm ET
Everything that 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 has been building to will culminate in the series finale, “Homecoming,” on Monday, February 3, at 8 pm ET on Fox. Since the writers had a feeling that season 5 would be the show’s last outing, they were able to prepare for the end. As a result, 9-1-1: Lone Star shouldn’t finish with any cliffhangers or major questions left unanswered. However, season 5 still has a lot to address before the credits roll during the finale.

What To Expect From 9-1-1: Lone Star’s Finale
Many Characters’ Stories Need Closure
At the end of 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 10, Judd struggled with his sobriety. However, things started looking up for him when Grace finally called him, inspiring him to pour his alcohol down the drain. Judd’s story isn’t over, though, and he still has a lot of work to do to overcome the demons that arose following Grace’s exit. Consequently, viewers will see Judd’s recovery in the show’s final two episodes. Jim Parrack, who plays Judd, teased his character’s ending while speaking to TV Insider. The actor said:
“Judd’s in a good spot, having come through that crisis and that low point and having allowed other people to lead him and take care of him, to be a leader in that situation and step up and be there for the people he loves.”
Unfortunately, Station 126 seemingly has bigger things to worry about in 9-1-1: Lone Star’s last two episodes. As seen in the season 5 trailer, an asteroid is heading for Austin, Texas, meaning the show might conclude with the end of the world. Of course, that’s highly improbable, and the characters will likely find a way to stop the asteroid. However, the threat pumps high stakes into the finale, prompting the first responders to make the best of what could be their final minutes.

The good news is that, based on Parrack and Natacha Karam’s (who plays Marjan Marwani) discussion with TV Insider, the procedural drama will end on a heartwarming, bittersweet note (suggesting the asteroid doesn’t kill them all). Both 9-1-1: Lone Star cast members described group scenes that significantly impacted them and will affect the audience. Karam explained:
“There’s a lot of tears. Rewatching it doing ADR, there were a lot of tears for me again. I thought it played so beautifully and captured so much of the five seasons, and we shot it on our last night working together before we were wrapped. So that was pretty intense.”
