Hugh Jackman has had a busy season promoting his new movie, Song Sung Blue, alongside Kate Hudson. The film, released December 25, 2025, is based on the true story of a Neil Diamond tribute band based in Milwaukee. Diamond’s iconic music is showcased and performed by Jackman and Hudson throughout the film to tell the heartfelt story.
Today, Jackman revealed an unexpected gift that the “Sweet Caroline” singer-songwriter himself sent to him. Along with a candid unboxing video revealing a signed guitar from Diamond, fans were also treated to a rare social media appearance of the 84-year-old himself holding the autographed item.
Jackman does very little talking in the video, as it appears the gift has rendered him speechless. The actor can be seen carefully unzipping a guitar case and offers a simple “Oh… my….” as he stares in disbelief. With a literal jaw drop, he then brings the one-of-a-kind item to his chest, holding it close and offers a humbled, “Thank you, Neil.” He captioned his post with “One of the most awesome gifts I’ve ever received and will cherish forever. Thank you @neildiamond.”
One fan remarked on the sweet moment Neil embraced his treasured gift with, “Beautiful. The way Hugh hugged it like a child with a cherished Christmas gift 🥹.”
Other fans are thrilled at this reveal, taking to the comments to mark such a meaningful moment:
“How awesome is this!! This is a beautiful “endorsement ” by Neil Diamond himself. I gather he enjoyed the film,” one faithful fan speculates.
“That’s simply the most beautiful and heartfelt gift I’ve ever seen anyone give to someone else! Congratulations on such a beautiful gift!” one adoring fan remarked.
Yet another echoed with, “Amazing gift that bespeaks volumes of words, heartfelt gratitude, and deep appreciation.”
Fans were also treated to a seldom-seen recent photo of Neil Diamond. In the photo, the “You Don’t Buy Me Flowers” singer looks comfortable and appears to be in a home music studio. He’s grinning and offering an enthusiastic thumbs up as he proudly displays the gift before sending it to Jackman. The inscription can be seen in the photo and reads, “Hugh, Keep rocking! Your friend, Neil Diamond.”
