Now that’s Italian.
Gucci celebrated the opening of its renovated downtown digs and the launch of Sabato De Sarno’s new Ancora collection with a bella festa attended by half of Hollywood.
The house welcomed Jessica Chastain, Elliot Page, Jodie Turner-Smith, Iris and Maude Apatow, Beanie Feldstein, Natasha Lyonne, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Kingsley Ben-Adir and more to its sleek 63 Wooster St. store in Soho. Guests enjoyed champagne and cocktails, Milan-level bites and a performance by Romy Madley Croft, the DJ and musician whose hit “Loveher” scored De Sarno’s Ancora runway debut in September.
Guests were given a Gucci Ancora manifesto poster and a vinyl copy of “Mid Air,” Madley Croft’s album from an airstream wrapped in Gucci Ancora Rosso, a dark red from the collection. In the days leading up to the bash, the vehicle motored around New York distributing warm beverages, flowers and Gucci Ancora postcards to fans.

The art-filled boutique is situated in a 155-year-old landmark building that spans an entire city block. A former pencil factory, its contemporary interiors are furnished with iconic Italian furniture by Cassina, B&B, and Minotti.
The store carries women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and shoes, jewelry, accessories, and the signature Gucci Valigeria luxury luggage lines. The new spring collection features limited-edition pieces including an acid green version of the Jackie Notte bag.

Gucci Wooster Bookstore, curated by Dashwood Books, was also renovated and has its own entrance at 375 West Broadway. The bookstore will showcase “Gucci Prospettive 1: Milano Ancora,” the first volume in a series conveying De Sarno’s artistic vision.
