Great deals await at the fall edition of the Kingston Symphony Volunteers Vinyl Records Sale. From Thursday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, the semi-annual Kingston tradition is an opportunity for music aficionados to gather at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse and discover some hidden gems.
According to a release from the Symphony, over the past several weeks, Kingston Symphony Volunteers have been busy sorting the thousands of LPs, CDs, and DVDs that they have received at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse.
The Symphony said they have everything from pop rock to blues, classical to jazz, and folk to country, to satisfy everyone’s musical taste. The Vinyl Records Sale is a chance to get great deals on classic LPs and audio equipment like receivers, speakers, and turntables.
“We’re so grateful to all donors. They spoiled us with some excellent LPs for this sale, including some true rarities: three complete sealed sets of the Rolling Stones ‘Past and Present’; a title from 1975 called ‘Insertion in Middle ‘C’ – only 500 copies ever made; and a bunch of classic albums to fill our Platinum Lounge. It should be a great sale!” said Dan Murphy, Vinyl Records Sale co-chair.
According to the release, all sales support the Kingston Symphony and help to ensure a thriving music culture in our community.
“The Kingston Symphony’s concerts and education programs depend on the support of our volunteers and their fundraising efforts. They are a tremendous asset to the organization. This year’s sale is dedicated in memory and honour of our friend and colleague, former Vinyl Records Sale chair David Notman,” organizers stated.
Starting Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, the sale will take place at the Kingston Symphony Warehouse, located at 785 Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard, Unit 7A. On opening night, vinyl records will be priced at $8 each, CDs at $1 each, and DVDs and Blu-rays at $1 each (series and box sets individually priced), with audio equipment and other collectables priced individually.
