Next Chapter Junior Book Box: Pick out a book box based on a favorite book series, genre or author at the circulation desk. Included in each box is three library books and fun goodies. New boxes available at the beginning of each month. Boxes are on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited quantities available.
Sensory Storytime: 11 a.m. Tuesdays. Yoga, store time and hands-on play for all children of all abilities. Begins in January.
Storytime with Mr. Howard: 11 a.m. Wednesdays in the Literacy Park when weather is good, inside library when it’s not, except when noted.

Saturday Storytime: 11-11:45 a.m. Join Mr. Howard on the second Saturday of each month for stories, music, and movement.
Adults Arts and Craft Workshop: 4-5 p.m. first Tuesday each month. Space is limited. Register by calling 231-796-5234 or logging into your library account.
Pizza and Pages: 4-5 p.m. third Tuesday each month. Read a book (or two) from the CBC Display and join us at our monthly meeting to talk about it while eating pizza! An activity will follow each discussion. For grades sixth through eighth.

STEM Lab: 4-5 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. Activities will engage participants in problem-solving and critical thinking. For ages 9-13. Registration required.
Family STEM Night: 4-5 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math activities as a family. For ages 5-8 with an adult. March 20: Coral: Plant or Animal?
Saturday Matinee Movies: 1-2:30 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of the month. Visit bigrapidslibrary.org for movie titles. Returns March 15.
Chronic Pain PATH Toolkit: 1-2 p.m. March 20-April 24. A six-week workshop conducted over the telephone for adults living with chronic pain and their family members/caregivers. Cost: Free. Register by March 19 by logging into your library account or calling 231-796-5234.

Preschool Story Hour: 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 7-May 3. Stories, songs, rhymes and crafts for children ages 5 and younger, and their parents/caregivers. (No session April 1 due to Chippewa Hills spring break).
Discovery Club: 3:30-4:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 22-March 26. Features art projects, science experiments, games, fun problem-solving activities and scavenger hunts. For third and fourth grades. Meet at Mecosta Elementary. Staff and volunteers will walk the students over to the library. (Students who do not attend Mecosta Elementary may just meet in the library’s community room.) Includes a snack. Cost: Free.

Michigan’s Dark Places: 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1. Return to the scene of Michigan’s most notorious crimes on this adventure in dark tourism. Using archival photographs, crime scene sketches, and documents, noted author Tobin T. Buhk will guide attendees on a journey to the most infamous spots in the Great Lake State.
