U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks said Democrats’ efforts to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies glosses over the root cause of rising health care costs, and she touted a last-minute Republican alternative to try to tackle the issue.
Miller-Meeks is the lead sponsor on a legislative proposal released by House Republicans late last week aimed at making health care more affordable, although it does not extend enhanced premium tax credits offered under the Affordable Care Act.
