EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -New art is making a splash at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library alongside water-themed events.
Art of Water is a new water-themed group exhibition featuring six area artists that focus on the concepts of water and conservation hosted in partnership with the Waldemar Ager Association. The series runs until February 26th on the third level of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library.
People can learn more about the art and water-related topics through four free community events happening throughout January and February. A program committee member with the Waldemar Ager Association, Doug Pearson, said the purpose of the series is to express the importance of water in our lives.
“Water is in our lives,” Pearson said. “We hardly pay any attention to it. You turn the tap on it’s there, but it isn’t necessarily so across the world. And it may not be necessarily so if we don’t do something about it.”
Events include exploring water in the Chippewa Valley, looking at freshwater issues, and more. They are free for the public to attend.
