New York JFK Airport will soon offer over 20 new dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences to the thousands of travelers who pass through Terminal 8. The concession brands, which will be powered by 13 local and diverse businesses, come as part of the terminal’s $125 million commercial redevelopment program.
Popular eateries alongside beloved New York local favorites are expected to open over the next year. American Airlines, the primary operator at Terminal 8, says the new brands coming to the facility will “make an unforgettable” experience for its passengers.
Bringing in powerhouse brands
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), the owner and operator of JFK, announced the news on Thursday. A total of 21 new dining, retail, entertainment, and amenity spaces will open at the facility through 2025. The lineup includes powerhouse brands such as Eataly, Momofuku, Black Tap, Alidoro, and Harlem Chocolate Factory.

PANYNJ Chairman Kevin O’Toole spoke about the new offerings.
“Airports are the front door to our region and as such it’s important that travelers from around the world get to experience the culture, traditions and diversity that make this region unique while they’re at JFK. Empowering local and diverse businesses to join our concessions program at the airports helps to create the world-class travel experiences passengers have come to expect.”
A new experience at JFK
A massive overhaul of JFK has been taking place over the past few years. The authority has been focused on introducing a new experience at JFK that will “rival the best in the world,” according to PANYNJ Executive Director Rick Cotton. An expansion of Terminal 8, which cost $400 million, was completed in November 2022, while the authority has made progress on enhancing other facilities at the airport. Additionally, officials hope the “new JFK” will generate “economic opportunities for the communities nearby.”
