The new year came with new music from one of the Jonas Brothers.
As promised, the song “Gut Punch” dropped on Thursday, Jan. 1 courtesy of Nick Jonas after the Grammy nominee teased his new single earlier in December.
“Gut Punch. Out New Year’s Day,” Jonas, 33, captioned his Instagram post on Dec. 14 that featured a lyric from the track that is out now. And fans are already basking in the music and sharing their thoughts online.
Fans of the singer-songwriter and actor seem to be generally on board with “Gut Punch,” flooding the comments section of Jonas’ recent YouTube post featuring the track as a lyric video (see below). “Love that I heard this live in Brooklyn this is a very good song and we know how much this means to Nick and how this song is just a good thing for many people that relate,” wrote one user, while another person commented, “Love this song. It literally is me and touches my core.”
“How did I get so good at being mean to myself? / I should turn the heat down, tell myself to chill out” is just one snippet of the lyrics from Jonas’ impactful new song.
Back in November, the multifaceted star announced his forthcoming solo album, Sunday Best, which will be released on Feb. 6, 2026. Alongside the announcement, Jonas shared the album cover and encouraged fans to pre-order starting at midnight ET.
The big news came shortly after a Jonas Brothers performance as part of their JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour in Las Vegas, where the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star debuted “Gut Punch” as well as another song from his upcoming album, “I Need You.”
