Queen Camilla is battling a chest infection and has been forced to cancel public appearances this week, Buckingham Palace announced Tuesday.
“Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest,” a palace spokesperson said in a statement to the BBC.
“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.”

Camilla, 77, is believed to be recovering at home under doctors’ supervision.
As a result, she will miss the opening of this year’s Field of Remembrance event at Westminster Abbey in London on Thursday, during which people plant poppies to remember those who have lost their lives in the armed forces.
Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester, will step in on the queen’s behalf.

The British monarch’s daughter-in-law Kate Middleton was also diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
The Princess of Wales, 42, completed chemotherapy in September but shared that her “path to healing and full recovery is long.”
Middleton, who is married to Charles’ son and heir, Prince William, returned to work later that month.
