The Creep Tapes not only marks the return of the Creep movies’ titular serial killer but also adds new characters to the mix who serve as catalysts for exploring the franchise’s comically unsettling world and stories. Made on a shoestring budget of $500, the first Creep movie garnered immense critical acclaim after its release in 2014 and still boasts an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 91%. For obvious reasons, the movie’s success spawned a sequel, which premiered in 2017. Unlike most sequels, Creep 2 performed even better than its predecessor, boasting a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Although Creep 3 was reportedly in development after the second movie’s success, creative challenges held its filmmakers back from bringing it to life. However, instead of creating Creep 3, they have now made a spin-off/prequel miniseries, which unfolds partly as an anthology. With each new episode, it shows how the franchise’s central killer targets and murders new victims. Since The Creep Tapes, like the original found footage Creep movies, is primarily driven by the performances of its talented cast members, viewers may be curious about who plays whom in the series.

Related Why A Creep TV Series Works Better Than A Third Movie The world of Creep is now expanding with a TV show, and it has the potential to be a lot better than a third movie could have been.
While some movies developed by the two brothers have failed to leave their mark, others, like the Creep movies, Who Lives At Home, and Paddleton, have performed incredibly well among critics, cementing their place among some of the most talented independent filmmakers of modern times. Apart from acting in several critically acclaimed movies, like The One I Love, Creep, and Creep 2, Mark Duplass has also been the lead singer of an indie band, Volcano, I’m Still Excited!!. In 2018, he also published an autobiographical book, Like Brothers, with Jay Duplass.

Character: In the two Creep movies and The Creep Tapes, Mark Duplass portrays the titular serial killer who stands out from most other villains from slasher horror movies. While he always exudes a sense of menace, most of his victims do not take him seriously because of his hilariously weird gimmicks and odd charm. He usually lures his victims by inviting them to make a film for him and offering them as much as $1000 for a day of filming.
In The Creep Tapes , the Mark Duplass character targets a new victim in each episode and adopts creative tricks and ploys in every episode to kill a new individual.
Unlike most fictional serial killers, who hide behind masks and try to keep their true motives shrouded before their victims have fallen for their traps, Mark Duplass’ underrated horror villain from Creep, Peachfuzz, usually makes his intentions quite evident from the beginning. However, this makes his victims even more curious about who he is, making them stick around to find out more about him. In The Creep Tapes, the Mark Duplass character targets a new victim in each episode and adopts creative tricks and ploys in every episode to kill a new individual.
