Here are five events scheduled from Sept. 15 to 22 in the Lake County area.
‘90s country night

If you ask a country music fan, the 1990s was a special time for the genre. Leaders of that pack include Diamond Rio, known for hits like “Meet in the Middle,” “Beautiful Mess” and “One More Day.”

Getting the last laugh
Teachers Lounge Comedy is at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $30-$45. At 26 N. Williams St. 815-356-9212; rauecenter.org.
It’s after school and the teachers open the lounge door and spill the tea. These teachers-turned-comedians share funny anecdotes and stories from their time in front of the chalkboard.
Blues and ‘cues

Tasty barbecue and even tastier Chicago blues are on tap for part two of this blues experience.
Falling for fall
Wheeling Oktoberfest is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Performance Pavilion at Heritage Park in Wheeling. Tickets are free. At 201 Community Blvd. 847-465-3333; wheelingparkdistrict.com/events/fallapalooza.

Look for a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, airbrush tattoos, food trucks and music by Jennifer Fletcher and the Reckoning.
Beer garden busker

Ratner performs on acoustic guitar during the SeptOberFest event presented by the Lake County Forest Preserve. Lakeside fire pits and free firewood are available on a first come, first served basis. S’mores kits are availablec for purchase. The venue features an array of local craft beers on tap from Lake County breweries.
