As the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics approach their final weekend, the competition is only intensifying.
The word is focused on the action, with medals yet to be awarded across eight disciplines, including cross-country skiing, speed skating, bobsleigh.
Much of the excitement surrounds the U.S.-Canada showdown for gold in men’s hockey after the Americans rolled into the final by routing Slovakia 6-2 in the semifinals.
In curling, Canada’s controversial men’s team will have the country’s last chance at Olympic gold after the Canadian women fell in a heartbreaking loss to Sweden’s sharp squad.
Then, in bobsled, a pair of German sleds and one from the U.S. — the one driven by Humphries Armbruster — have separated themselves from the pack slightly after the first of two heats. The final, medal-deciding runs get underway on Saturday.
Those are just a few of the medal events still ahead.
