Ohio secured a notable spot in WalletHub’s new 2025 ‘Most Fun Cities in America’ report. Cincinnati broke into the national top 10. The personal-finance site evaluated more than 180 cities across 65 entertainment-related categories, from fitness clubs per capita to movie prices and brewery hours.
Cincinnati ranked No. 10 overall, joining big destinations such as Las Vegas, Orlando and Miami in the top tier. The report indicated the Queen City stood out for its mix of affordable attractions, strong local sports culture, walkable neighborhoods and an expanding food-and-beverage scene.
Cincinnati was the only Ohio city to reach the top 20, though other cities in the state appeared in WalletHub’s full rankings. They include:
Cleveland at No. 46
Columbus at No. 58
Akron at No. 103
Toledo at No. 117.

The rankings reflect access to parks, the availability of low-cost entertainment and the affordability of local recreation options – categories where Midwest cities often fare well.
The report highlighted sharp contrasts between U.S. cities. Las Vegas leads the nation in restaurants and playgrounds per capita, while San Francisco ranks first in dance clubs and walkable park access. Movie costs vary widely as well, with Corpus Christi offering the lowest average ticket price and Los Angeles the highest.
