An exciting opportunity for both the airline and its partners
Unsurprisingly, the Alaska Airlines leadership team was excited by today’s announcement, which will continue to build the airline’s reputation, especially as it emerges from its major merger with Hawaiian Airlines. In a statement regarding the partnership’s launch, the airline’s Managing Director of Marketing and Advertising, Eric Edge, had the following words to share:
“Every day we connect people to the places and experiences they love most, and partnering with Coachella and Stagecoach is yet another way to deliver on that commitment. ”
Edge continued, noting his excitement to welcome guests on board Alaska Airlines flights and providing them with the high level of customer service that the airline has become known for, especially as they travel to those music festivals in the desert. He also noted that the airline will be offering new upgraded experiences for passengers and festival-goes of all types, including the Alaska Airlines Flight Pass, a new kind of subscription service that gives passengers access to endless destinations and free flights.

So what’s the bottom line?
At the end of the day, this latest move from Alaska Airlines is set to help the carrier continue to grow its reputation with younger travelers. Having acquired a popular leisure-oriented airline, Hawaiian Airlines, and partnering with other reward programs that cater to the needs of young people (like Bilt Rewards), the carrier has made it clear that it hopes to become a favorite of post-Millenial travelers.
