Winter sports are winding down and spring sports are starting up in Arizona, and there’s plenty of activity, including college sports and a new season for Phoenix Rising FC. Here are updates on news and events happening around Arizona sports:
ASU baseball defeated Arizona in midweek matchup
Arizona State routed Arizona, 10-4, on March 10, at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, the first of five games against the Wildcats this season.
ASU (12-4) homered twice, while three players had multi-hit nights and three players had multiple RBIs.
Arizona was within two runs in the top of the sixth, but ASU reliever Sean Fitzpatrick held the Wildcats scoreless through three innings and struck out four. ASU provided run support with four runs in that span.
The Sun Devils will remain at home to host No. 17 TCU from March 13-15. The first two games will begin at 6:35 p.m., while the finale will be at 1:05 p.m.
