PORTAGE, MI –– The neon glow of a 158,186-square-foot arcade and event space can be seen from inside The Crossroads mall, as Zap Zone XL opened to the public over the weekend.
On opening weekend, the space saw over 3,000 visitors.
The two-story facility is located at 6780 S. Westnedge Ave. in Portage.

After trying some of the new activities offered at the two-story, entertainment facility in The Crossroads mall, Whitaker gave “paper plate awards” to the activities..

Zap Zone offers a range of activities with pricing deals throughout the week.

Of the activities, the roller coaster simulators, “Jurassic Mini-Golf” and the trampoline park are still being constructed.
Portage’s indoor roller rink is new across Zap Zone’s 10 Michigan locations, Owner Mike Hafez said.
The location also has more than 500 top-of-the line arcade games, described as “the latest and greatest on the market.”
A standard day pass starts at $39.99 and includes all-day unlimited standard attractions including: laser tag, bumper cars, roller skating and the pixel floor.
The VIP pass starts at $75 and includes one hour of bowling, one karting race, along with unlimited standard attractions. The VIP pass also includes unlimited ax throwing, cornhole and football bowling.
Zap Zone XL offers deals throughout the week.
On Monday, the VIP pass drops to $60.
On Tuesday, unlimited standard attractions drop to $25.
Wednesday sees prices slashed on go-karting ($15), ax throwing ($10, cornhole, ($5) and football bowling ($5).
On Thursday, arcade games are half-off.
