Country music fans trying to catch Morgan Wade in concert might want to catch one of the final handful of shows she shared on social media this week because she is planning to take some time off.
The 30-year-old made the announcement on Instagram.
“Hey y’all,” Wade said in a video shared to her account. “I just want to take a minute to talk about a couple of things. One, thank you. It’s been about 500 shows in the last, I guess, technically three and a half years, amazing, maybe even more than that, my math is off.
“I have been to a lot of places that this small town girl never thought that she would get to go to,” she continued. “I have done a lot of things. I have met a lot of people. I couldn’t have done any of that without you guys buying tickets and listening to my songs. I’m forever grateful for that. So I just really want to say thank you.
“I’m going to be taking some time off from touring,” she added. “I’m not going to be doing as much as I have been. There are a lot of things that I’m working on outside of the music world. There are a lot of things that I haven’t had time to do, and I’m going to go do that and take a bit of a vacation and experience some life.”
Along with the video, she shared a list of dates — Dec. 16 in Lynchburg, Virginia, Dec. 17 in Roanoke, Virginia, Dec. 18 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and Dec. 19 in Bristol, Tennessee — and wrote, “Thank you guys for the last several years. Time for me to take a little break from touring and work on some new things. Still a few shows left for the year.”
Wade is a native of Floyd, Virginia. She has released five albums, the latest — “Obsessed and the Party is Over” — coming this year.
