One of the best superhero shows on television, with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, just got a massive update about its Disney+ future. The streaming service is known for being the home of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and along with the DCU, the two franchises have dominated superhero stories for over a decade. But as the super-powered subgenre has been viewed as a safe bet that will draw audiences, there have been inspired attempts to really grapple with the kind of narratives that are told within that realm.
Some of those attempts come from within Marvel and DC, with The Penguin and Agatha All Along, standing out as two adaptations that break the mold. But many more worthwhile stories approach the subgenre even more daringly, such as the HBO moviemaking satire The Franchise and the Hulu dark comedy Extraordinary. But one of the most successful series of 2023 just got a massive update, well over a year after the season 1 finale premiered.
Moving Season 2 Is In The Works
The Sci-Fi K-Drama Has Received Widespread Acclaim
According to The Hollywood Reporter, at Disney’s Asia Pacific Content Showcase in Singapore, it was announced that Moving season 2 is in the works at Disney+. The announcement, which was made by Carol Choi, Disney’s Executive VP of Original Content Strategy for Asia–Pacific, included no story or casting details. However, series creator Kang Full will be back for season 2.
Moving is based on Kang Full’s webtoon, with a large cast that includes Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, and Cha Tae-hyun.
Consisting of 20 episodes, which premiered in the latter half of 2023, Moving centers on three high school students with genetic superhuman abilities. The trio’s lives are threatened when a mysterious organization starts to hunt them down one by one. Along with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, breaking down to a high 8.20/10, Moving also cultivated an audience. It became the most-watched K-Drama on Disney+ in just seven days.
