Springtime is near, and that means more time spent outside.
A Harrisburg event venue could help with that.
Harristown Enterprises will soon open Coronet Park at 21 S. Second St., near Market Square. The 3,300-square-foot venue will open in April and will host music and outdoor activities.
The park will have a stage, a plaza of pavers, planters and other amenities.
The park occupies the former Coronet Restaurant, which was gutted by fire in 1994 and stayed vacant until it was torn down in 2017. The building had dated to 1914.
Harristown had planned to build a six-story building with retail and office space in the spot, but that changed.
Here’s the schedule of activities, including concerts, planned for the park:
April 22 – Earth Day plant swap
May 2 – Books & Brews featuring Jo Piazza’s Bookmobile and Stable Shakers Duo
May 8 – DeRose & The Dreadnaughts
June 3 – Yappy Hour with Greenlin Pet Resort
June 12 – Meaghan Farrell
July 1 – Ice cream social
July 10 – Sons of Pitches
Aug. 7 – Silent disco with FunkBot Presents
Aug. 14 – Le Ghast
Sept. 3 – Cigar night with Lounge 611
Sept. 11 – RalphReal & The Family Jam
Oct. 17 – Pop-up biergarten and football game stream
Nov. 4 – Game night
