MASSACHUSETTS — It isn’t so much a question of what there is to do in the Boston area and beyond, but rather, what should locals do?

Boston’s largest holiday tree — standing at 52-feet tall and adorned with over 10,000 twinkling lights — will be lit on Friday as part of the city’s 8th annual Light Up Seaport event. The tree lighting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The program, hosted by Cheermeisters Ashlee Feldman & Amina Smith, will feature live music performances on Seaport Common by popular local acts Boston City Singers, Divine Sweater, The Gracenotes and ToriTori. It will be broadcast on NBC10 Boston and streaming platforms such as Peacock and Roku in a special live edition of The HUB Today.
Light Up Seaport is a part of Snowport, the winter holiday activation at the Seaport. Also this weekend, Winter Fest debuts at Hood Park in Charlestown, transforming two acres into a winter wonderland.
