Norway set a new Olympic record for most gold medals after winning their 17th gold at Milan Cortina. Brittany Bowes finished fourth in her final Olympic race. The U.S. women’s curling team lost to Switzerland in the semifinals and will play for the bronze medal tomorrow.
Team USA won its 10th gold medal, and tied its record for most gold medals in any Winter Olympics, after Alex Ferreira’s gold medal-winning freeski halfpipe run. American Nick Goepper made it to the end of his third run but crashed while attempting a never-before-completed move, finishing fourth.
U.S. skater Corinne Stoddard took bronze in women’s short track 1500m, earning Team USA’s first women’s medal in Olympic short track in 16 years. Germany and U.S. are battling it out for the bobsleigh 2-woman medals, with U.S. pairs in third (Jasmine Jones and Kaillie Humphries) and fifth (Kaysha Love and Azaria Hill) at the end of two of four runs. Team USA’s Elana Meyers Taylor and Jadin O’Brien fell from fifth to 12th in their second heat.
Canada and USA won their men’s hockey semifinal matches and will play each other in the finals on Sunday.
