HOLLYWOOD (KABC) — Ringo Starr isn’t just one of the world’s most famous musicians. The former Beatle also has another talent he’s quite passionate about. Ringo isn’t slowing down a bit… he’s still touring at 85. And has a new art show!
Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band is in residency right now at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas through September 27th…with a stop in between at the Yaamava’ Casino on September 23rd. His All-Starr Band has been around for decades now, playing music and entertaining big crowds of fans along the way.
When asked what fans can expect Starr said, “Well, you get, I’d like to tell the audience that I promise you, every one of you will know one song!”
Over the years, Ringo’s all-stars have included notable musicians from Men at Work, Average White Band, Aerosmith, Toto and dozens more.
“You never know when the magic is going to hit but this format, these players and myself, it’s great,” said Starr. “It works and we work for each other and it’s about doing this. Or in my case, this (fake plays the drums).”
Besides Ringo’s music, there is his art. And he’s at it again! “Starr Art” is his first art show since 2019…now on display at Animazing Gallery at the Venetian until October 15th.
“As you can see, this is spin art. I do have other art where I paint but this is magic because you never know what you’re getting,” said Starr. “I was watching on the internet and two kids, well, 10 years ago, they had a small canvas, and they were putting paint on it. And they were attaching it to a household drill, you know, which I thought was pretty dangerous actually but, and then, you know, you saw that this big ‘whew whew.’ So I want to do that. So we got an engine from Rolls Royce!”
