She’s got “Taste.”
Sabrina Carpenter performed at the Grammy Awards 2025 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night.
The 25-year-old pop star, who is up for six awards, entertained the live audience by singing her 2024 hits “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”
Carpenter kicked off her performance wearing a black jacket and tie, giving Old Hollywood a nod while singing a slowed-down version of “Espresso.”

She then ripped off the suit to reveal a blue ensemble and sang a faster version of her hit single — while tap dancing!
Carpenter’s performance continued with “Please Please Please” before she transitioned back to “Espresso” while joined by her backup dancers, who were also dressed in blue.

Carpenter joined Billie Eilish, Shakira, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone and other stars in performing at this year’s Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah.
The Disney Channel alum also snagged six nominations, including for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Shortly after her performance, she won for Best Pop Vocal Album — her first Grammy ever — and teared up as she walked on stage to accept her award.
“This is so special to me and Short N’ Sweet means the world,” she told the audience.

In the Best New Artist category, Carpenter is up against Roan, Boone, Swims, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye and Shaboozey.
In November, Carpenter shared a video of herself watching the Grammy nominations livestream and celebrating the news of her first-ever Grammy noms on her tour bus.

“This is the first year I’ve watched the livestream where I heard my name!” Carpenter wrote. “I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t dreamt about this day my whole life so I am filled with gratitude. Thank you @recordingacademy :’).”
Carpenter’s career blew up last year with the release of her sixth album, “Short n’ Sweet,” which produced three Hot 100 singles: “Espresso,” Please Please Please” and “Taste.”

The superstar also embarked on her “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” which kicked off in September 2024 and will conclude this April.
In an interview for the TIME100 Next list in October 2024, Carpenter talked about having waited a long time for her banner year.

“There were so many things I dreamt of doing as a little girl I got to do this year that felt like such a cool, sweet, little bucket-list moment for my younger self,” she said. “I literally threw up when I found out about SNL. Not to be graphic.”
As for getting to perform at the 2024 VMAs, Carpenter said, “I grew up watching those performances and being like, I want to do that. But then it all just seemed so — not even out of reach, just like I had a different plan in my head of when it was all supposed to happen.”
