‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ Is Getting a Stage Musical Adaptation

The Baby-sitters Club is back for a musical new adventure.
On Thursday, Sept. 15, TWTheatricals announced that it has optioned the theatrical rights to the bestselling book series written by Ann M. Martin.
The upcoming full-length production will feature a book by Kate Wetherhead (The Devil Wears Prada, Ever After). Handling music and lyrics is Mark Sonnenblick, who is known for his work on KPop Demon Hunters, The Devil Wears Prada, Spirited Away and Theater Camp.

Direction and choreography will be done by Annie Tippe (Octet, Lucille Lortel Award for Best Direction, Three Houses, Ghost Quartet, HUZZAH!)
An exclusive industry presentation is scheduled to take place on Nov. 13 in New York City, with producers eyeing a theatrical premiere in spring 2027.
According to a press release, the musical picks up 12 years after the disbanding of The Baby-sitters Club. The musical finds the founding members, Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey, returning to Stoneybrook, Conn., to honor the pact their 13-year-old selves made to reunite.
