Colombian singer-songwriter Yeison Jiménez, 34, has died in a plane crash, according to a report from TMZ.
The música popular star was among six people who died when the plane crashed on Saturday, Jan. 11, according to the outlet.
The plane was en route to the Colombian city of Medellín when it crashed just after takeoff.
The musician’s team eventually confirmed the musician’s death in a statement on social media. Beyond being one of Colombia’s most successful recording artists, Jiménez was remembered as an inspiration to thousands.
“Today we say goodbye not only to an artist; we say goodbye to a son, a brother, a friend, a human being full of dreams and courage,” the statement says.
Jiménez is survived by a wife and three children, TMZ reports.
